Kenya Surpasses 7,000 Covid-19 Cases Amid Rising Infections

On July 3, 2020, Kenya confirmed 247 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the country's total to 7,188 cases.

According to Health CAS Rashid Aman, the new cases comprise 242 Kenyans and 5 foreigners, with 164 males and 83 females. The youngest patient is a one-year-old, while the oldest is 100 years old.

Kenya has also recorded a significant increase in the number of samples tested, with 4,147 samples analyzed in the last 24 hours, bringing the cumulative sample size to 180,206.

The distribution of cases across counties is as follows: Nairobi (153), Mombasa (35), Kajiado (15), and Busia (12).

Additionally, 39 patients were discharged, bringing the total number of recoveries to 2,148. Unfortunately, two more patients succumbed to the virus, increasing the number of fatalities to 154.
