Lionel Messi's Barcelona Exit Looms as Contract Expires ¶

Lionel Messi, the Argentine football star, is reportedly considering an exit from Barcelona as his contract expires in the summer of 2021. The move comes amidst allegations of his involvement in the club's internal crisis.
According to reports, Messi has called off negotiations regarding the renewal of his present contract, which he signed in 2017. The 33-year-old star and his father Jorge had been in contract talks with Barcelona management lately, but the player has yet to put pen to paper.
One of the allegations insinuates that Messi was the force behind the sacking of former manager Ernesto Valverde. Before lockdown, Messi reportedly read the riot act to coach Quique Setien after the club's defeat against Real Madrid in the El Clasico played at the Santiago Baernabeu on March 1.
He also had a bust-up with Eric Abidal back in January and has now maintained that the current team under boss Quique Setien's are not good enough to win the Champions League this season.
Barcelona are on the verge of relinquishing the La Liga title to Real Madrid. The club's internal crisis has taken a new turn, with Messi at the center of talks when the team experiences a dip in form.
