On July 3, 2020, Kenya reported 247 new Coronavirus cases, out of a 4,147 samples tested, bringing the total number of cases to 7,188.

The new cases include 242 Kenyans and 5 foreign nationals, with 164 males and 83 females affected.

The youngest case is a 1-year-old infant, while the oldest is 100 years old.

Health CAS Rashid Aman reported the increase, stating that 154 people have succumbed to the disease, with 2 patients succumbing in the past 24 hours.

The number of recoveries has also increased to 2,148, with 39 patients discharged.

The distribution of cases in counties is as follows:

  • Nairobi: 153 cases, with 35 in Kibra, 28 in Westlands, and 16 in Dagoretti North.
  • Mombasa: 35 cases, with 17 in Mvita, 6 in Likoni, and 4 in Changamwe.
  • Kajiado: 15 cases, with 10 in Kajiado East, 4 in Kajiado North, and 1 in Kajiado Central.
  • Busia: 12 cases, with 8 in Teso South, 2 in Teso North, and 2 in Matayos.
  • Kiambu: 12 cases, with 6 in Kiambaa, 3 in Ruiru, 2 in Thika, and 1 in Kikuyu.
  • Uasin Gishu: 4 cases, with 2 in Ainabkoi, 1 in Kapseret, and 1 in Turbo.
  • Machakos: 4 cases, all in Athi River.
  • Garissa: 4 cases, with 2 in Daadab and 2 in Garissa Township.
  • Murang'a: 2 cases, in Maragua and Kiharu.
  • Nakuru: 2 cases, in Nakuru West.
  • Siaya: 2 cases, in Alego Usonga.
  • Lamu: 1 case, in Lamu West.
  • Nyamira: 1 case, in Nyamira town.
