On Friday, a tragic incident occurred in Naivasha where a mother allegedly killed her four children. The incident has left the community in shock and grief.

The children were laid to rest in an emotional burial ceremony held in Kinangop, Nyandarua County, on Thursday. The ceremony was attended by administrators who had to work overtime to ensure social distancing due to the large number of villagers who broke Covid-19 protocols to attend.

Church leaders present at the ceremony called on people undergoing stressful moments to speak out and reach out to their friends and relatives. Kenya Assemblies of God cleric Francis Kamau Mwaura emphasized the need for people to bear the happenings with fortitude and not suffer in silence.

The family of the deceased children was also affected by social media users who posted pictures of the dead children, with their spokesman, Macharia Kimotho, condemning the act as unethical and disgusting. He called for regulation of content on social media.

As the four bodies were being lowered to their final resting place, tears flowed freely, and screams rent the air with a number of mourners fainting. The children were finally laid to rest at around 1.15pm.
