On July 3, 2020, Interior CS Dr Fred Matiang'i emphasized the National Government's commitment to working with County administrations to achieve the country's development agenda.
Speaking during a meeting with leaders from Murang'a County, Matiang'i stated that the Government has implemented measures to ensure that budgetary allocations for development across counties are utilized effectively.
The National Development Implementation and Communication Cabinet Committee met with leaders from Murang'a County to discuss strategies for driving development in the region.
As the committee's chair, Matiang'i pledged the government's commitment to partnering with County Governments to implement President Uhuru Kenyatta's development agenda.
He was accompanied by other Cabinet Secretaries, including Energy CS Charles Keter, Education CS Prof George Magoha, Transport CS James Macharia, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe, and Agriculture CS Peter Munya.
The meeting provided an opportunity for the leaders to discuss a working formula for implementing key projects across several sectors in Murang'a County.
County leaders, led by Governor Mwangi wa Iria and Senator Irungu Kang'ata, welcomed the initiative, stating that it would help transform the fortunes of the county's residents.
