Kenya is grappling with a rising number of Covid-19 cases, with the country's total tally of confirmed cases reaching 6,951 as of Thursday, July 2, 2020.
CGTN Africa's Nairobi office has been closed after six staff members tested positive for Covid-19, according to reports by Nairobi News.
Operations at the media house have been suspended as staff members enter self-quarantine for 14 days, in line with the government's containment efforts.
The government has implemented various measures to curb the spread of the virus, including locking down a handful of counties, imposing a night-time curfew, and rolling out mass testing in virus hot spots.
On Thursday, Kenya recorded 268 positive coronavirus cases in 24 hours, with 259 of the new cases being Kenyans and nine foreigners.
Health Chief Administrative Secretary Rashid Aman announced that 20 patients were discharged from health facilities in the last 24 hours, raising total recoveries to 2,109.
