On July 3, 2020, Nation Media Group (NMG) laid off 50 employees, including NTV news anchor Ken Mijungu, due to declining revenues caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ken Mijungu, a trained lawyer, expressed gratitude to NMG for the opportunity to work at NTV and thanked his fans and supporters for their loyalty.
However, Mijungu was shocked by the sudden layoff after seven years of service.
