On July 3, 2020, Musalia Mudavadi, the leader of the Amani National Congress (ANC) party, emphasized the need for sports stakeholders in Kenya to develop innovative revenue generation strategies to improve the financial performance of the industry.

The sports industry has been severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, and while the government has provided support, Mudavadi urged clubs to explore new marketing and innovation strategies to capture more fans and improve their financial stability.

As a token of his commitment to the AFC Leopards, a club he once patronized, Mudavadi recently purchased a 20-acre piece of land in Kasarani for Sh633,000, which he had promised to buy for the club. He also hosted 26 Leopards legends at his Musalia Mudavadi Centre to discuss ways to strengthen the club's financial base and improve player welfare.

Leopards chairman Dan Shikanda expressed the club's gratitude to Mudavadi for his continued support. The meeting was attended by several former players, including Aggrey Lukoye, Nahashon Busuru, and Mickey 'T9' Weche.
