On Thursday evening, police officers at Kianyaga police station in Kirinyaga thwarted an attempt to smuggle 17 rolls of bhang into the station.
Two female suspects, Fridah Njeri, 18, and Doreen Wambui, 22, were visiting James Muriithi, who was being held for peddling bhang.
According to police, the two were arrested before they could hand over a vacuum flask containing the bhang to Muriithi.
When questioned, one of the suspects claimed that Muriithi had told them he was unwell and had not smoked bhang in over two days.
”He asked us to use the method saying he feels unwell as he has not smoked in over two days,” Wambui told the officers.
The two suspects are currently in lawful custody awaiting their arraignment in court.
