On June 27, a policewoman was performing her duties in police uniform along Racecourse Road in downtown Nairobi when she was allegedly approached by Kenneth Gachie Kimaru, a 27-year-old tout.
According to the prosecution, Kimaru complimented the officer on her physical appearance before grabbing her behind against her will.
The officer attached to Kamukunji police station's traffic department raised an alarm, and a tout intervened, but Kimaru allegedly brandished a knife and threatened him before fleeing the scene.
Fortunately, the incident was captured on CCTV, and police were able to trace and arrest Kimaru with the assistance of Neema Sacco's management, where he works.
Kimaru denied the charges before senior resident magistrate Steve Jalang'o of Makadara law courts and was released on a Sh200,000 bond. The case will be mentioned on July 14.
