Published on July 3, 2020, a report by NTV on June 30 had sparked widespread anger against Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, with many Kenyans feeling that justice had not been served for DJ Evolve, who was left unable to do anything by himself after an altercation with the MP at B Club in Nairobi on January 17.
However, in a surprising turn of events, DJ Evolve's father, John Orinda, has come out in support of Babu Owino, stating that the MP has been catering for his son's medical expenses since he was discharged from hospital.
“Since he (DJ Evolve) left the hospital, we have seen some improvement, and currently the medication he receives, it is Babu Owino who buys them,” Orinda stated.
Orinda also revealed that Babu Owino had footed the bill for the healthcare professionals looking after his son, who requires 24-hour-care, and had even offered a written apology to the media station that aired a report that he claimed was libelous.
“I thank Babu Owino for taking my son to Nairobi Hospital. I think he would have died had he taken him to a medical facility that has limited equipment. So far, the MP has paid Ksh 800, 000 for Felix’s treatment,” Orinda stated on January 30.
