MP Moses Kuria Embroiled in CDF Scandal

July 3, 2020, marked the beginning of a heated online campaign against Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, who has been accused of using his relatives to plunder the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) in Gatundu South.

The campaign, which has been trending on Twitter under the hashtag #KuriasSTEALINGSister, has seen Kenyans express their outrage and disappointment at Kuria's alleged actions.

According to audit reports, Kuria's sister, Jane Wambui Kuria, has benefited from the CDF through her company, Kiki Holdings Limited, which was awarded a Ksh4.9 million tender for the construction of a dormitory block at Kiamwangi Secondary School.

Other revelations include allegations that Kuria has been intimidating and manipulating the Gatundu South CDF committee to award tenders to his sisters' companies, which have received over Ksh80 million in the last three financial years.

As the online campaign continues to gain momentum, many have expressed their concerns about the potential consequences of Kuria's actions, including conflict of interest, shoddy work, and compromised standards.
