Published on July 3, 2020, Kenya recorded 307 new Covid-19 cases, the highest since the outbreak, bringing the country's total confirmed cases to 6,673.
Health CAS Rashid Aman expressed gratitude to a concerned citizen who visited Afya House to report Covid-19 non-compliance in Ruaka, a residential area in Kiambu County.
The unnamed resident, who was not a man of means, waited for hours to see a top official, determined to convey his message. Dr. Aman commended the man's patience and concern, urging Kenyans to adhere to containment measures, especially in public transportation.
According to Dr. Aman, the Ruaka resident narrated how residents were disregarding government measures, including overloading matatus beyond capacity. The CAS shared the resident's concern, saying, "I want to make a special appeal to each one of us to take personal responsibility in the fight against this disease."
Dr. Aman's appeal comes as the government urges Kenyans to take Covid-19 tests, including MPs, to prevent the spread of the disease.
