Published on July 3, 2020, investigations have revealed a web of corruption in Gatundu South NG-CDF, allegedly orchestrated by Moses Kuria, the area's Member of Parliament.
According to sources, Kuria has used his position to shield his family and himself from the looting that he is discreetly conducting through the NG-CDF. The fund, meant to benefit the residents of Gatundu, has been hijacked by Kuria and his relatives, who have created a network of thieves that benefits them.
Key to this web of loot is that Kuria has himself and his brother Aloise Kuria, a police officer, as the main signatories of the NG-CDF. His sister, Jane Wambui Kuria, is also a major beneficiary of their corrupt acts. The two brothers have also roped in other relatives and associates, including a police officer named Duncan Mwangi Ngugi, to ensure that they streamline any obstacles and bail them out when necessary.
One of the companies linked to Kuria's family is Kiki Holdings Limited, which received two contracts worth Sh9,814,240. The company has a police officer listed as a Director, and another company, Finishline Construction Company, where Aloise Kuria is a Director, has also received contracts worth over Sh40 million.
Stella Nyamu, a well-known name in the world of tenders, is also listed as a Director in several of Kuria's companies. She has been linked to a web of companies that have been involved in scandals, including a case where she was mentioned as the secretary of Makegra Suppliers Limited, which defrauded Kilifi County of over US $500,000.
Moses Kuria has deeply entrenched the system to ensure that he quietly suffocates his own constituents while benefiting his own family. It is only a matter of time before he and his family are brought to justice.
