On July 6, President Uhuru Kenyatta is set to launch the second phase of the Kazi Mtaani initiative, which has been allocated Sh10 billion and will run for six months in all 47 counties.

Speaking at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) during the closure of training for officers overseeing the initiative's second phase, President Kenyatta emphasized the importance of proper utilization of funds to achieve the programme's goals.

“We want this to have an impact on the lives of young people. But that can only happen if the monies given are utilised properly,” the president said.

He also warned against politicizing the recruitment process, urging that those in dire need of the jobs should be recruited first.

Local elders and Nyumba Kumi leaders will identify beneficiaries, with the initiative aiming to assist the most vulnerable in society during this period.

President Kenyatta has expressed his commitment to closely monitoring the initiative, citing its positive impact on young people, especially in Nairobi.
