On July 2, 2020, Bishop Elisha Juma of the Kenya Assemblies of God (KAG), Tudor, passed away at a Mombasa hospital due to complications from Covid-19.

Just three months prior, on March 28, 2020, his eldest son, Peter Juma, succumbed to the virus in New York, where he worked as a paramedic at St Catherine of Siena Hospital.

According to his family, Bishop Juma had underlying conditions of diabetes and high blood pressure, which worsened his condition.

The family is appealing for funds to cover funeral expenses and the hospital bill, totaling Sh2 million.

‘We are planning to raise funds to help pay funeral expenses and the hospital bill, a total of Sh2 million,’ said Justus Oyola, the deceased’s burial committee treasurer.

Bishop Juma leaves behind his wife, Reverend Mary Juma, and five children who live abroad in the US and UK.

He will be laid to rest on July 4, 2020, at his rural home in Rachuonyo, Homa Bay County.
