Guangxi China-Africa and Middle East Digital Trade Week Kicks Off

The Guangxi China-Africa and Middle East Digital Trade Week officially kicked off on June 29, 2020, with a theme of 'Made in Guangxi – Make life better'. The digital expo will conclude on July 5, 2020.

Organized by the CCPIT Guangxi committee, CCOIC Guangxi, and 14 CCPIT Guangxi City Branches, the event is co-organized by the MIE Group.

The digital trade week aims to utilize the China Africa Trade Week digital platform and cross-border e-commerce to display and promote high-quality, distinctive, and outstanding advantages of Guangxi to foreign countries.

More than 130,000 people, including representatives from government bodies and business associations, attended the online kick-off ceremony. These attendees included Dubai City Hall in the UAE, Kenya Investment, Ghana Tourism Authority, Eastern African Chamber of Commerce, Kenya Chamber of Commerce and Industry, National Chamber of Commerce of Ghana, and National Business Federation of Morocco.

Li Xuxiang, Vice President of CCPIT Guangxi, said, 'COVID-19 is spreading all over the world. China, the Middle East, and Africa are all facing the grueling task of fighting the epidemic, stabilizing the economy, and protecting people's livelihood. Under these circumstances, supporting the 'China (Guangxi) – Africa & Middle East Digital Trade Week' is a specific action of Guangxi's in-depth participation and active integration of the 'Belt and Road Initiative' building.'

He further added, 'The spirit of innovative measures is an important starting point to help Guangxi foreign trade companies' response to the epidemic and promote the export of 'Guangxi Products'. At the same time, looking forward to more high-quality Middle Eastern and African products entering the Chinese market through cross-border e-commerce, achieving mutual benefit and win-win.'

During the event, a total of 7 online promotion meetings will be held daily, focusing on various industries such as medicine and medical equipment, construction materials, construction machinery, hardware and electrical machinery, food and agriculture, plastics printing and packaging, home appliances, and electronic products.
