On a fateful night in 2019, the home of Ivorian defender Sol Bamba, a Cardiff City player, was raided by three burglars while he was away playing in France.
The thieves made off with a Louis Vuitton bag, a Range Rover, and a Cartier wrist watch, leaving Sol Bamba with a significant loss of KSh 12 million (£90,000).
According to a court hearing, the burglars struck while Sol Bamba's team, Cardiff City, was playing in Nice, France, and his wife Chloe was away with their three children.
Footage from the CCTV showed the three criminals wearing hoodies, gloves, and dark clothes as they ransacked the house.
One of the suspects, 18-year-old Daniel Flynn, was seen driving away the Range Rover Sport after the property had been plundered.
Cardiff Crown Court heard that Flynn had played a willing part in many burglaries and would be sentenced later this month after pre-sentence reports into his background.
Judge Richard Twomlow described the burglary as a ransacking of the house, with property smashed during the incident.
Chloe Bamba, Sol's wife, was left devastated by the intrusion into her home.
