Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has agreed to meet with activists to discuss the social media giant's content policies, even as he resists pressure from an advertiser boycott.
According to a Facebook spokesperson, Zuckerberg will join a meeting with activist leaders from the NAACP, Anti-Defamation League, and Color of Change to discuss Facebook's moderation practices.
On Thursday, Zuckerberg told an employee meeting that the advertiser boycott, which has gained momentum with over 650 advertisers joining, is unlikely to have a major impact.
"We're not gonna change our policies or approach on anything because of a threat to a small percent of our revenue, or any percent of our revenue," Zuckerberg said.
Instead, he vowed to make policy changes based on "the right things" for the Facebook community, rather than revenue pressures.
"We take these matters very seriously and respect the feedback from our partners," a Facebook spokesperson said in an email. "But as we've said, we make policy changes based on principles, not revenue pressures."
The meeting is set to take place on Monday, according to The Washington Post.
