Safaricom, a leading telecommunications company in Kenya, has announced that M-Pesa services will be temporarily suspended on Thursday, June 2, from 6 PM to 11 AM the next day.
The company stated that all M-Pesa services, including mobile money transactions, will be unavailable during this period to enable them to upgrade their system.
According to Safaricom, the maintenance is part of their regular efforts to improve their services and ensure a seamless experience for their customers.
"We have been upgrading our system for over 13 years, connecting and empowering millions of Kenyans every day," Safaricom said in a statement.
"In order to further improve these changes, we will be carrying out a routine maintenance of our system on Thursday, June 2, 2020, from 6 PM to 11 AM the next day. All M-Pesa services, including mobile money transactions, will be unavailable during this period," the company added.
The company has assured customers that the maintenance has been scheduled to minimize disruptions to their business operations.
