MP Babu Owino Continues to Support DJ Evolve's Treatment ¶
Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has been providing financial support for the medical expenses of DJ Evolve, who was shot on January 17 at B Club in Nairobi.
According to DJ Evolve's father, John Orinda, the MP has been catering for the medical expenses incurred during his son's home treatment, including medication and healthcare professionals.
"Since he left the hospital, we have seen some improvement, and currently the medication he receives, it is Babu Owino who buys them," Orinda stated in an exclusive interview with Kenyans.co.ke.
Orinda also noted that the MP had paid Ksh 800,000 for his son's treatment, which he believes would have been fatal if he had taken him to a medical facility with limited equipment.
Despite the ongoing controversy surrounding the shooting, Orinda has expressed his gratitude towards the MP, stating that he was assured that Owino was regretful of what happened and had offered support when needed.
However, the MP's actions have not gone without controversy, with a report aired by NTV on June 30 igniting anger against him as people noted that justice had not been served as the young man lay unable to do anything by himself.
As a result, the MP moved to sue the media station, claiming that the packaging of the news report was libelous and that it lowered his standards in the eyes of the right-thinking members of society.
He also demanded a written apology from the broadcaster.
