According to reports, Craig Willis, a Manchester United fan, was at a luxury apartment site where he met Mahrez, and the two took a photo together.
However, Willis's actions did not go unnoticed, and he was reportedly sacked from his job for breaching social distancing rules.
Willis defended his actions, stating that Mahrez was 'pretty cool' with the photo and that he had taken it for his best friend, a Manchester City fan.
Meanwhile, Mahrez has been enjoying his best form for Manchester City, scoring several goals since the league's restart on June 17.
City lost the title to Liverpool, whom they face in a grudge match on Thursday, June 2.
