On July 1, 2020, a concerned citizen from Ruaka area in Kiambu County visited Afya House to express his worries about the Covid-19 situation in his residential area.

The citizen, who wished to remain anonymous, had been waiting for a while to see a top official, but was eventually granted an audience with CAS Rashid Aman.

According to Dr. Aman, the man narrated how residents of Ruaka were not adhering to the government's containment measures, particularly in public transport. He shared his personal experience of being in a matatu with his wife, which was overcrowded beyond capacity.

Dr. Aman was touched by the man's effort to visit the ministry and wait to see an official, despite not being a man of means. He commended the citizen for his patience and concern, and urged Kenyans to take personal responsibility in the fight against the disease.

Kenya had recorded 307 new cases of Covid-19 on July 1, 2020, the highest since the outbreak in the country, raising the country's total confirmed cases to 6,673.
