On July 2, 2020, the Alfa Romeo Owners Club announced that the Concours d'Elegance, a highly anticipated motor show in Nairobi, would be postponed to 2021 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The event, which has been held annually since 1971, attracts thousands of motoring enthusiasts to the Nairobi Racecourse on the last Sunday of September. However, with the pandemic causing widespread disruptions to large gatherings, the organizers have made the difficult decision to postpone the event.
The postponement will be a disappointment to the 24 Ugandans who had already submitted entries, as well as the competitors, sponsors, and spectators who were eagerly anticipating the event.
According to the Alfa Romeo Owners Club, the postponed Concours d'Elegance is expected to take place on September 26, 2021, and will likely follow a similar calendar to the 2020 event.
