Nigeria has been under lockdown since March to contain the spread of COVID-19, which has infected 26,484 people and claimed 603 lives.
On July 8, 2020, Abuja and Lagos airports will resume domestic operations, marking a significant easing of COVID-19 restrictions.
Aviation Minister Hadi Sirika announced the news on Twitter, stating, 'I am glad to announce that Abuja and Lagos airports will resume domestic operations on the 8th of July, 2020.'
International flights, however, will remain banned for now, with Sirika urging the public to 'bear with us, please.'
