On July 2, 2020, Mombasa officials confirmed that 15 students who had recently arrived from Sudan tested positive for coronavirus.
The students were part of a group of 129 Kenyan students who were repatriated over the weekend.
They landed at Moi International Airport on Saturday evening aboard a Kenya Airways flight and underwent a mandatory health check before proceeding to the Kenya School of Government in Kizingarea for a 14-day quarantine.
