Chelsea's Frank Lampard has expressed disappointment with his team's performance against West Ham in their Premier League clash on Wednesday, July 1. The Blues lost 3-2 to the Hammers despite controlling most of the game.

Chelsea's loss meant they failed to move to third position above Leicester, who lost to Everton at Goodison Park. The defeat marked the first time West Ham completed a league double over Chelsea since the 2002-03 season.

Frank Lampard has criticized his team's performance, stating that they lacked the right mentality during the game. He urged his players to step up their game in the remaining fixtures.

"We had an opportunity today to go third but you have to do every part of the game to get results. If you switch off or make one or two errors then you will encourage teams. Players have to show an extra mentality to get through these games," he told Sky Sports.

Chelsea's result left them in fourth place with 54 points, just two above rivals Manchester United who are pushing for a place in the top four.
