On Thursday, Uganda's Health Ministry reported nine new Covid-19 cases, bringing the country's total number of confirmed cases to 902.
According to Health Services Director-General Henry Mwebesa, all the new patients are Ugandan nationals.
Two of the new cases are truck drivers who arrived in Uganda from Kenya via the Malaba border, while seven are contacts from Amuru and Tororo.
Dr. Mwebesa noted that 27 foreign truck drivers who tested positive for the virus were not allowed into the country.
As of Thursday, Uganda had 188 active cases on admission, with 163 Ugandans, 19 foreigners, and six refugees.
Since the first case was reported in March, at least 847 people have recovered from the virus, including both Ugandans and foreign nationals.
