Comedian Sleepy David has spoken out in defense of Daniel Churchill Ndambuki, the Godfather of comedy, amid allegations that he doesn't pay comedians well.

Published on July 2, 2020, Sleepy David shared his thoughts exclusively with Mpasho.co.ke, stating that comedians who feature on Churchill's main show are paid 20,000 shillings per show.

However, those who perform live during the recording but don't make it to the main show are paid 5,000 shillings for transport, Sleepy David explained.

He also addressed rumors that Churchill mistreats comedians, saying that whenever a comedian gets a gig and makes money, Churchill doesn't ask for any percentage of their earnings.

According to Sleepy David, everyone has a different relationship with Churchill, and he considers him to be like a big brother and mentor.

He also pointed out that some comedians who were previously complaining about being owed money by Churchill have since gone silent, suggesting that they may have been paid after all.
