Francis Afriyie, a former Gor Mahia striker, has revealed that he left the Kenyan giants due to constant harassment from his landlord.

According to Afriyie, he was struggling to make ends meet and was constantly being harassed by his landlord, which led to his decision to quit the team.

He joined Botswana side Township Rollers but has failed to cement a place in the team.

During an interview with African Sports, Afriyie spoke of his time with the record Kenyan Premier League champions and what exactly made him quit.

He dismissed suggestions that he exited because of salary arrears, instead attributing his departure to the constant harassment from his landlord.

‘I left Gor Mahia because of landlord harassment. There was a time I was out the whole day then I came back to find they have locked my door, that's what triggered me to leave Gor Mahia FC,' Francis Afriyie stated.

Gor Mahia's financial woes started when giant betting firm Sportpesa, which was the sole sponsor of the club, had its licence revoked by the government and effectively left the country.
