On July 2, 2020, the Africa Concours d'Elegance announced that it would be postponing its annual motorsport event to 2021 due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

The decision was made in response to government restrictions aimed at curbing the pandemic, which made it difficult for the event organizers to ensure social distancing and adhere to health and safety protocols.

"The pandemic has had a drastic effect on schedules for major sports events throughout the world, and the Concours is the latest to bow to the inevitable," said the Alfa Romeo Owners Club in a statement.

The event, which was set to take place this year, would have been the 50th in the annual series organized by the Alfa Romeo Owners Club as an anniversary celebration and an opportunity for owners of well-kept machines to showcase them at the Nairobi Racecourse.

Twenty-four Ugandans had already submitted entries to this year's event, which would have been a significant blow to the competitors and their helpers who had spent months preparing their magnificent cars and bikes.

The postponed Concours is now expected to take place on September 26, 2021.
