Published on July 2, 2020, Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu is facing an impeachment motion from the county Assembly, which she attributes to the Wiper party leadership.

Ngilu, who attended a swearing-in ceremony where Kalonzo Musyoka warned her of an 'easy time', claims the Wiper party leader is behind her woes.

"He attended my swearing-in ceremony and warned me that I will not have an easy time because he has majority members in the Assembly. It has now come to pass," Ngilu said in an interview on Radio Maisha.

With 30 Wiper party MCAs out of 54 in the Assembly, Ngilu's Narc party has 12, and the rest are from smaller parties and independents.

Ngilu expressed her willingness to have dialogue with MCAs to iron out their differences, but remains skeptical about getting fairness from the county Assembly.
