On a somber note, comedian Jalang'o has shed light on the struggles of the Kenyan comedy industry, which has seen a number of comedians lose their lives to depression and frustration in recent years.

Published on July 2, 2020, Jalang'o revealed that many comedians assume they have made it after appearing on Churchill Show or in the media, only to struggle with financial pressures and the pressure to maintain a certain image.

'When you see us on TV, it doesn't mean we are rich,' Jalang'o said. 'We are just normal Kenyans who are known or famous, so don't judge or set standards for us! You will kill us!' he warned.

Jalang'o advised upcoming comedians and artists to take it easy and stop living beyond their means, emphasizing that building a brand takes time and consistency.

'Artists, this thing takes time! From 2005, I was already acting at KNT! You can't be me today! You can't live where I live nor can you drive the car I drive! Don't kill yourself! You must do time! It will take years!' he cautioned.

Jalang'o's message comes after the loss of several comedians, including Kasee of Churchill Show, who passed away recently.
