On a journey to success, many celebrities have had to face the harsh realities of poverty. For Kate actress Kate Kamau, this was a harsh reality she knew all too well.
As she reflected on her journey, Kate Kamau revealed that she and her cousin Jacqy Tina had to live in a tiny bedsitter in Maringo, struggling to make ends meet. They would often have to be careful with their money, calculating how much to spend on fare so they could have a warm meal to eat when they returned home.
Despite being famous and appearing regularly on TV, Kate Kamau and Jacqy Tina were often mocked by people who assumed their status came with wealth. They would be asked how they could be broke despite being celebrities.
However, Kate Kamau credits God for saving her from poverty and blessing her. In a heartwarming post, she encouraged fellow creatives to keep the faith and avoid living above their means if they ever wanted to pull themselves out of poverty.
