Media personality Jacque Maribe is considering a career in politics, following in her father's footsteps. She expressed her interest during an Instagram live session with Mista Dru on his VIP Room show on July 2, 2020.
Maribe's father, Maribe Mwangi, contested for the Kiharu parliamentary seat in 2007 but lost twice. If Jacque Maribe decides to run for an elective post, it would be the third time a member of the Maribe clan has attempted to win the seat.
Maribe's father's slogan during his campaign was 'Work for the people!'
Maribe's friends and family have been supportive of her potential political career. Last year, Dennis Itumbi, her close friend, penned a birthday poem for her, describing her as a 'Fire on top of a mountain.'
"Living life, courageously, powerfully and unapologetically A Fire that refines your ore into Gold. A Golden friend. A Golden mum A Golden trailblazer…"
Maribe has not ruled out running for a political post in Muranga in 2022. When asked about her potential candidacy, she said, 'It is an opportunity. Given the opportunity, why not.'
She added, 'I have not ruled it out but what I’m saying is, I have not [officially] declared it. I’m receiving alot of messages with people asking if I will run. The proper response from me is, ‘See you at the finish line!’.
Maribe also expressed her openness to being pushed into politics, saying, 'Sometimes you are sent for people to push you in the right direction. You never know.'
