July 1, 2020, marked the continuation of Leicester City's winless run since the Premier League season restart, as they fell 2-1 to Everton at Goodison Park.

Everton took the lead in the 10th minute when Anthony Gordon's cross found Richarlison, who slotted home past the Leicester goalkeeper.

The hosts doubled their lead in the 35th minute, with Michael Keane and Wilfred Ndidi contesting a header in the box. After a lengthy VAR review, referee David Coote ruled that Ndidi had handled the ball, and Gylfi Sigurdsson confidently converted the resulting penalty.

Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers made a double substitution at halftime, introducing James Maddison and Kelechi Iheanacho in place of Jamie Vardy and Ayoze Pérez.

The switch had an immediate impact, with Iheanacho scoring the visitors' consolation goal in the 51st minute. However, Leicester were unable to find an equalizer, and the match ended with Everton securing a 2-1 victory.

Everton's win moved them up to 11th place in the Premier League table, while Leicester remained in third place with 55 points, one more than fourth-placed Chelsea.
