On Wednesday, July 1, 2020, a dramatic scene unfolded in the Senate chambers as two female Senators, Beatrice Kwamboka and Mary Seneta, engaged in a fistfight.

The altercation occurred after the two Senators disagreed on the election of Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina as vice-chairperson of the Senate Health Committee.

According to reports, Deputy Majority Whip Farhiya Ali was dissatisfied with Ledama's victory and allegedly forged the signature of nominated Senator Millicent Omanga to postpone the election.

The alleged forgery sparked a heated argument between Senators Kwamboka and Seneta, who traded barbs before the quarrel turned physical.

Senator Kwamboka was heard shouting, 'I will deal with you, I am in leadership, you will know who I am.'

Senator Ledama, addressing reporters after the incident, stated, 'I was elected to chair the Senate County Public Accounts and Investment Committee (CPAIC) and was denied, now I have been elected vice-chair Health Committee and now they are trying to frustrate me.'
