On a night that will be remembered for its dramatic twists and turns, West Ham United secured a crucial 3-2 win over Chelsea at the London Stadium on July 1, 2020.

The victory marked a significant milestone for the Hammers, as it propelled them out of the relegation zone and further solidified their push for survival.

Chelsea, on the other hand, saw their hopes of finishing in the top four suffer a significant dent, as they were left reeling from the late defeat.

The match got off to a thrilling start, with West Ham nearly taking the lead inside the first 13 minutes, only for Antonio to drag his shot across the face of goal in a one-on-one with Kepa.

Despite the early scare, Chelsea managed to weather the storm and took the lead just before halftime, courtesy of a penalty converted by Willian.

However, West Ham's Soucek restored parity for the hosts just minutes later, ensuring that the two sides headed into the break level.

The second half saw West Ham take the lead in the 51st minute, courtesy of a close-range shot from Antonio, which made it 2-1 in favor of the Hammers.

Willian drew the west London side level in the 74th minute, whipping a free-kick towards the top right to make it 2-2.

But in a stunning turn of events, Andriy Yarmolenko slammed home the winner at the death, condemning Chelsea to a humiliating defeat.

The defeat leaves Chelsea sitting fourth in the table, just two points off fifth-placed Manchester United, while West Ham have now beaten Chelsea both home and away this season.
