On July 1, 2020, a shocking discovery was made at the Athi River Police Station in Kenya, where the decomposing bodies of a three-year-old boy and a four-year-old girl were found inside a vehicle.
The incident occurred after a man went to the police station to collect his vehicle, which had been impounded on March 4, 2020, following a road crash.
According to Athi River police boss Catherine Rigera, the children had gone missing on June 11, 2020, and an investigation had been opened to determine the circumstances surrounding their deaths.
The bodies were identified by the parents of the children and were subsequently moved to the Chiromo mortuary for further examination.
