On Wednesday, a tragic discovery was made at the Athi River Police Station in Kenya, where the decomposing bodies of a three-year-old boy and a four-year-old girl were found inside a vehicle.

According to Athi River police boss Catherine Rigera, the children went missing on June 11, 2020, and a search operation was launched immediately.

Ms. Rigera stated, "The children were reported missing on June 11 and we have been searching for them since then."

The bodies were discovered by a man who had gone to the police station to collect his vehicle, which had been impounded on March 4, 2020 after being involved in a road crash.

After the parents of the children identified the bodies, they were moved to the Chiromo mortuary for further investigation.

Ms. Rigera confirmed that an investigation has been opened into the incident.
