Manchester United Duo to Stay in Italy for the Rest of the Season

Manchester United has confirmed that Chris Smalling and Alexis Sanchez will stay in Italy for the rest of the season. The duo had been loaned out to AS Roma and Inter Milan respectively.

Smalling, who joined Manchester United a decade ago, has featured 30 times for Paulo Fonseca's side this season, while Sanchez has made 19 appearances under Antonio Conte.

According to Manchester United, Smalling will stay at the Stadio Olimpico for the rest of the Serie A season, which is currently scheduled to last until the beginning of August, due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Alexis's deal at Inter Milan has also been extended until the end of the first week of next month.

Manchester United made the announcement on their website on July 1, 2020, confirming the duo will see out the 2019/20 campaign in the Serie A.
