2020 China-Africa Digital Trade Week Kicks Off ¶
The 2020 China-Africa Digital Trade Week, held at the virtual platform Global Trade Week – Virtual Exhibition (GTW-VE) from June 29th to July 5th, 2020, kicked off successfully.
The inaugural session of the 'China-Africa digital Trade Week' was co-organized by the bilateral cooperation department of China International Chamber of Commerce, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Wuhan committee, and MIE Group. The event was undertaken by the Secretariat of the Chinese Council and the local liaison office of the China-Africa Joint Chamber of Commerce.
The official Opening Ceremony was well attended by Chinese Ambassadors and Counsellors, along with dignitaries from African territory. The VIP speakers included Wu Meng, Director General of Bilateral Cooperation department of CCOIC and Secretary General of the China Council of the China-Africa Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sun Yuansong, Chairman of CCPIT Wuhan committee, and Zhang Chengang, Second Inspector of CCPIT Hebei committee.
Director-General Wu Meng extended his support towards Africa in strengthening connectivity and ensuring the construction of industrial sector to cope with the impact of the epidemic and expand economic and trade cooperation.
Chairman Sun Yuansong put forward three key suggestions: speeding up the implementation of the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, further developing 'One Belt One Road' production capacity cooperation, and deepening commercial legal cooperation.
The forum attracted nearly 300 delegates from China and Africa and officially kicked off the China-Africa Digital Trade Week, which strengthened the determination of Chinese and African enterprises to jointly fight the epidemic.
GTW, a new 'Virtual Expo' ecosystem, was launched to help foreign trade enterprises meet overseas procurement needs and stabilize the basic market of foreign trade.
The platform covers more than 700,000 high-quality traders from 15 countries of MENA and enables enterprises to enhance the marketing capabilities and create a new 'Virtual expo' ecology for the global exhibition industry.
