July 1, 2020 - Raila Odinga, the former Prime Minister of Kenya, has made a public appearance after undergoing a surgery in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
According to his wife, Ida Odinga, Raila underwent a successful back surgery at a Dubai-based hospital to treat a mild nerve disorder affecting one leg.
Ida refuted earlier claims that Raila was in a critical condition, stating that he was treated for a minor health issue and is now okay.
Dr. Oburu Oginga, Raila's brother, had earlier stated that the former Prime Minister left the country for a minor surgical operation on his back, but his wife's account sparked speculations on what could be ailing Raila.
Ida urged people to treat such rumours with contempt and abhorrence, stating that it's not right to speculate on someone's health.
