TV47 Anchor Abubakar Abdullahi Appointed Youngest TV CEO

Abubakar Abdullahi, a 25-year-old news anchor at TV47, has been appointed as the acting Chief Executive Officer of the station, effective July 1, 2020. This makes him the youngest TV CEO in Kenya.

Abubakar, who has been with TV47 since 2019, has vowed to live up to the name of the station and broadcast untold stories from all 47 counties in Kenya. He has promised to be the counties' newsroom and has expressed his love for the direction of the team.

"We want to be the counties' newsroom and I love the direction of the team," Abubakar stated in an interview with Kenyans.co.ke.

Abubakar has previously worked at Elm TV, iTV, and Standard Media Group. He has been a news anchor at iTV since his first year at Daystar University and has hosted debates with politicians and opinion leaders, including Herman Manyora and Johnstone Muthama.

TV47 has wished the outgoing CEO, Eugene Anangwe, all the best in his future endeavors.

Abubakar has been praised for his objectivity, clarity of thought, and dedication to work. He has been a highly acclaimed journalist and has been fronted as the best journalist to replace Hussein Mohamed at Citizen TV following his resignation in late 2019.
