Churchill Show Comedians Accuse Victor Ber of Driving Them to Depression ¶
July 1, 2020
Popular comedian Zainabu Zeddy has spoken out about the struggles faced by comedians in the industry, linking the recent deaths of her colleagues to frustrations in the comedy world.
According to Zeddy, Churchill Show Creative Director Victor Ber has been a major contributor to the depression and stress experienced by comedians, particularly those who have been rejected from performing on the show.
She revealed that Ber has a reputation for being heartless and cruel, often rejecting comedians without explanation and leaving them feeling dejected and hopeless.
One comedian, Njenga Mswahili, was said to have begged Ber for a chance to perform, but was rejected multiple times before taking his own life.
Another comedian, Kasee, was also said to have struggled with depression after being rejected from performing on the show.
Zeddy's accusations come as a shock to many, particularly given Ber's close relationship with his wife, Teacher Wanjiku.
She went on to expose the hardships faced by comedians in the industry, including being forced to rehearse for three days before being told they would not perform, and being left to wait for hours without any explanation.
She also revealed that Ber has a reputation for being ruthless and heartless, often leaving comedians feeling broken and defeated.
Her post has sparked a wave of support for comedians who have been affected by Ber's actions, with many calling for him to be held accountable for his role in driving them to depression.
