Kenya's COVID-19 cases have seen a significant surge, with 307 new cases reported on July 1, 2020, marking the highest single-day total since the pandemic broke out in the country.

According to Dr. Rashid Aman, a Chief Administrative Secretary at the Ministry of Health, the new cases were detected from 3,591 samples tested since Tuesday.

Dr. Aman urged all Kenyans to play their part in helping bring the curve down, announcing that 50 patients had been discharged after recovering.

Kenya has so far discharged 2,089 patients, while sadly, one patient lost their life.

As the country continues to grapple with the pandemic, the Ministry of Health will remain vigilant in its efforts to contain the spread of the virus.
