Published on July 1, 2020, Kenya has recorded 307 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 6,673.

According to Health Chief Administrative Secretary Rashid Aman, the high number of daily cases is a result of many people not adhering to containment measures advised by the government.

Dr. Aman warned that Kenya is likely to reach its peak between July and September, citing the current trend of cases.

Meanwhile, 50 patients have been discharged, raising the total recoveries to 2,089, while the death toll rose to 149 after one more person died overnight.
