Kenya's sports industry has been on hold for over 100 days, but the government is now working to slowly reopen it.
On June 30, Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed announced the formation of a special committee to develop protocols for the resumption of sports in the country.
The committee, headed by Chief Administrative Secretary Hassan Noor Hassan, will comprise federation managers, medics, and representatives from various sports organizations.
According to CS Amina, the committee's primary task is to recommend protocols for the resumption of sports, review global trends, and make recommendations on any other matter that may affect the resumption of sporting activities.
The committee's report is expected to be made public on July 10.
Kenya was forced to suspend sports activities in March due to the coronavirus pandemic, affecting various disciplines, including football.
