On July 1, 2020, Senator Gideon Moi received a significant endorsement from over 300 KANU delegates from West Pokot, who declared him the Kingpin and Spokesperson of the Kalenjins.
The delegates, who spoke from West Pokot, praised Senator Moi's visionary leadership and his ability to unite the populous region in pursuit of the national agenda and supporting President Uhuru Kenyatta.
According to the delegates, Senator Moi has the vision and leadership skills necessary to bring the region together and address the challenges facing the people of Rift Valley.
Earlier, Senator Moi had met with a section of Rift Valley leaders, including Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Alex Tolgos, Cherangani MP Joshua Kutuny, Moiben MP Silas Tiren, Tiaty MP William Kamket, and former East Africa Community Minister Musa Sirma, at their Kabarak home to discuss political matters and find solutions to the COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing floods in the region.
