On a tragic Tuesday, a middle-aged houseboy working for Nyeri PCEA preacher Samuel Theuri took his own life after brutally killing his 37-year-old lover at their employer's Kiamwathi Village home.
Erick Muriithi, in his 40s, used a panga to hack his partner to death before hanging himself from an avocado tree near the servants' quarters.
According to police, the two bodies were moved to Nyeri County Referral Hospital for further examination.
Investigations into the couple's death have begun, but the motive behind the heinous crime remains unclear.
Speaking to K24 Digital, Theuri expressed his shock and confusion over the incident, stating that he had no knowledge of Muriithi's relationship with the woman and that he did not appear depressed on the evening of the incident.
